Schofields Aerodrome Masterplan

The masterplan for the Schofields Aerodrome site was prepared by Planning Workshop Australia on behalf of the Department of Defence, with a view to obtaining inclusion of the site on the Sydney Region Urban Development Program and to seek a change in zoning from Blacktown Council. The site is approximately 5.5 km northwest of the Blacktown CBD and in close proximity to a proposed extension of the M2 motorway, with proposed direct access to a number of state and regional roads.

The key objectives included: A mix of dwelling types to promote a range of ages, social and cultural backgrounds and therefore a livable community; the retention of bushland and the development of green open space along the existing creek and the provision of open space recreation activities in areas that are not developable.
