Sarah has worked on a range of residential, commercial, mixed use, industrial, mining, aged care and special uses projects. This work has included the preparation of Statements of Environmental Effects for development applications, the preparation of rezoning applications, the provision strategic planning advice, including the preparation of a structure plan and due diligence advice.
Sarah has also assessed a number of complex development applications on behalf of Councils and undertaken a peer review and benchmarking exercise of a sample of statutory planning instruments in Australia.
Prior to joining the company, Sarah worked at Randwick City Council both as a Strategic Planner, for two and a half years, and a Development Assessment Planner, for one year. In her time at Randwick City Council Sarah worked on a variety of strategic projects, including the preparation of LEPs and DCPs and a Public Domain Strategy as well as assessing and reporting on a wide range of development applications for residential, commercial and industrial development and being responsible for all of Council’s strata, stratum and Torrens title subdivision certificate applications.
As part of Sarah’s Undergraduate Degree she prepared a thesis entitled Dire Stratas: The Redevelopment Problem. This paper, which has been well received, researched the growing problem of redeveloping ageing strata subdivided residential flat buildings.
Sarah has earned the following awards for her academic work in planning:
- UDIA (NSW) Tertiary Award for Excellence, 2006, for Dire Stratas: The Redevelopment Problem.
- PIA (NSW) Award for Excellence for Student Projects, 2006, for Dire Stratas: The Redevelopment Problem.
- PIA (Australia) Merit Award for Excellence for Student Projects, 2007 for Dire Stratas: The Redevelopment Problem.
